Environmental News

Apple Inc. has published its annual audit of its suppliers, who build Apple's ipods, iphones and macintosh computers.  Many violations of its Code of Conduct, including underage employees and lack of compliance on environmental issues, were uncovered.  Read more about the issue here.

As the chilling photograph taken in the 1800's shows, there was a time when we thoughtlessly destroyed the parts of nature thought to be impeding with human progress.  These days we know our foreparents were wrong.

Changing to a greener way of life isn't always easy.

It can be hard to know where to start.  That's why we recommend you start small.

March!  Yeah baby!

Spring is around the corner!  While it seems that Mother Nature has been going a bit, well, berserk lately, the great bird migration has begun, hinting at the turn in the seasons yet to come.

In our corner of the world, the winter has been relatively precipitation-free, so we are happy to have this last blast of winter, which swooped down on us this past week.  Some like to grumble, but we've been given decent temperatures for the short time given for us to play in the snow!

However, it must be noted that spring flowers have been found already in bloom - snowdrops specifically, although crocuses are ready to blossom and daffodils are stretching up their long necks in preparation to burst forth in all their yellow glory!

The March issue of the pdf Green Directory is ready - see what is new!  Save the pdf file to your computer so that you can look for environmentally friendly businesses from home.  The Green Directory lists businesses that provide environmentally products and services in Canada and the United States.

Interested in having a snazzy listing in the Green Directory?  A small one-time fee of $9.49 applies - it's a life-time fee that allows for an exclusive listing!  Already listed?  If you would like to upgrade your listing to include a logo, the fee will cover the upgrade.  It's easy - fill out the form found in our Eco Shop.

Check out EverythinGreen's Eco Shop for links to Mug Revolution's hand-made mugs and family-friendly products from Trees and Tots.  Trees and Tots has a sale on, with some fabulous prices, of its gently used infants organic clothing.  It's a great opportunity to stock up on organic without going broke.
